What We Do
Enrich the Lives

Our Volunteer Initiatives include
HANDS-ON activities such as:

Reading to young children enrolled in the CANE Child Development Center as well as donating books.
Serving Soup to workers at the plants and fisheries in Galilee – for the “Soup for the Docks” program.

Donating and collecting food & clothing for many food pantries and nonprofit groups throughout Washington County, plus other groups like the Women Veterans. Hundreds of pounds of food are collected and distributed throughout the year.
Domestic Violence Resource Center – hands-on property improvements and garden cleanup in addition to donations & grants.
Raise Funds
An annual Book & Author Luncheon is our major fundraiser where we bring together acclaimed and award-winning authors and book lovers. Other fundraisers have ranged from Zumba and Line-dancing to a little black dress event. These events raise funds for grants for nonprofit groups in South County and for scholarships for women in need.
