Who We Are

GFWC Bristol County Women's Club

The Club was established in 1953 as the GFWC Barrington Junior Women's Club. In 2000, to broaden its scope, the Club changed its name to GFWC Bristol County Women's Club. Since that time the club has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community, locally, statewide and worldwide.

Our projects include:

  • The Pawfect Pantry (Free pet food)

  • Donations to Local Homeless Agencies

  • TAP-IN (Touch-a-person-in-need)

  • Valentines for Vets

  • Women’s Resource Center of Newport & Bristol County (Domestic Violence Awareness)

Club meetings are held at night the first Monday* of the month

WELCOME

The GFWC Bristol County Women’s Club celebrated their 70th anniversary this past October with a Ladies’ Tea.  The BCWC has been an active organization in Barrington, Bristol and Warren, RI since 1953, helping those towns build playgrounds, running Strawberry Festivals, and sending out phone directories back in the day.  Along with animal focused projects (making cat toys for local Animal Shelters, and supporting a new pet-food pantry – The Pawfect Pantry), current club members support the East Bay Women’s Resource Center by helping the Warren Center keep up their gardens, organize their donations, and provide Mother’s Day bags for their client moms, and home-made cookies for their children.  70 years-old and going strong!
